Hi, we’re Cassandra & Shane and I am proud to be the Jim’s Mowing franchisee for Christies Beach.
We reside in Reynella with 2 of our 3 children. Our eldest being a member of SAPOL being fortunate to gain entry straight out of high school and was posted to a country destination just on 12 months ago and is loving it. We have our 2 teenage boys at home along with our retired greyhound Harley, 2 cats…Bomber and Panda and a few chickens.
Shane spent 10 years in the Navy on the new Collins class submarines and resigned in 1997 when our first child was born. Shane has been a labourer of varying types including having a Jim’s Mowing franchise approx 10 years ago for approx 5 years and most recently for the past 5 years has been working in the building industry for a flushing and fixing company delivering gyprock.
Cassandra has always worked in Management in the retail industry with most recently the last 12 years with South Australian Company Cheap as Chips as a store manager. Cassandra was blessed to be able to spend about 8 years as a stay at home mother when the children were younger and participated in our previous Jim’s mowing franchise. We are both very excited to join the Jim’s group again and using all the skills we have acquired over the past years to have a very successful franchise.
We both love to get out in the outdoors and go fishing. We have a little family shack on the Yorke Peninsula and really enjoy the opportunities to get up there for some downtime with some amazing friends. We love watching and supporting our 3 children grow into wonderful adults and support them in their sporting and work commitments as best we can. All 3 of our children played district basketball for many years with Southern Tigers where Cassandra had a small stint at coaching and a few years as team manager for varying teams.
All 3 were very skilled at basketball in their own right with our daughter making the ABA squad. Shane is actively involved in our local football club, the Reynella Wineflies and has been coaching there for many years now. Both our boys have played at the club for the past 8 years. Our youngest is blessed to be apart of the South Adelaide football club playing in the under 16’s in 2018 and also named deputy vice captain. Cassandra loves reading all James Patterson books and pottering in the garden. We both support Essendon in the AFL while each of our children have chosen their own teams over the years. We have Fremantle, St Kilda and GWS followers in our family so AFL games can get quite interesting when they all play each other
Shane loves working outdoors and enjoy spending time indulging his green thumb through gardening! I love the challenge of turning an overgrown and unkept property into a neat and tidy garden with perfectly manicured lawns!
